Walmart is set to end sales of handguns in Alaska and will discontinue the sale of short-barrel rifle and handgun ammunition in stores nationwide, the super chain's president and CEO announced Tuesday afternoon.

Please write to Walmart in a very polite Manner and express your displeasure with the new policy. Informed them that you'll will be taking as much of your current shopping that you do there to other places even if it is less convenient for you and a bit more expensive.

Remember to be polite you do attract more flies with honey than you do with vinegar

Makes no difference. For years I have said outside this forum, the world does not see the need for a gun as we do in here. Some in here, a gun is ALL they think of and are snow blind to the outside real world as to the perception of what guns are for. Unlike the gay thing where this country has bowed down and kissed the rears of 2% of the population, the general population has the closed the gap on who is for and who is against guns. A slight majority against guns now exists if you include 18 year olds as adults. Gun ownership has gotten away from what actually makes sense to own to...... they allllllllllll are evil!!! 50 years ago the liberals were actual Democrats and not Socialists and crap for brains Millennial's did not exist. Enough live brain cells were in the heads of people to know what and why gun ownership is important. Now....well it is viewed as a killing instrument and not a self defense necessity.

That’s not good. Not because I give a flying frog about Walmart and what they do or don’t do, but because they are typically the cheapest local brick and mortar source for ammo. Which, IMHO, probably creates some competition for other local retailers. Without pressure from Walmart’s cheaper prices, ammo prices at other local places could increase.

There’s always the online sources, which in my experience are better than Walmart if you shop around. But, that takes time to ship. I live in an apartment at the moment, making delivery complicated. Plus, some times you just want a couple boxes spur of the moment.: censored

I'm sure walmart wont miss the sale volume.

I'm also sure the dems would love to make online ammo purchases illegal thereby further controlling how ammo is purchased. I'm sure that's next on the list.

It costs nothing to send them a note. If they get thousands of them, they MIGHT reconsider. They MIGHT get the message.

If they don't, they don't. It's still worth the small effort it takes.

I posted it in the other thread, but here's what I just sent. Took me all of about 3 minutes to pound it out on the keyboard.

I just sent this to Walmart's customer service email (service@walmartcontacts.com) AND the CEO (doug.mcmillon@walmart.com).

I am writing as a LONG time customer going back to when you were only in Arkansas (my original home state).

I am asking you to reconsider your decision to halt ammunition sales. I have bought a LOT of ammo at your stores over the years. I am a law-abiding, productive citizen who enjoys firearms as a hobby. I also believe in my right to self-defense and my Rights (all of them) as enumerated in the Bill of Rights.

My local Walmart was a great place to buy my practice ammo, because the prices and selection were good.

Halting the sale of ammo at Walmart will, of course, do nothing to curb CRIMINAL activity. It will only serve to punish law-abiding customers like me. LIFE-LONG customers like me.

Whenever I need something (clothing, car oil / filter, groceries, cleaning supplies, etc), I'd go to Walmart... and while I'm there, pick up some ammo. It's really the ammo I come for, if I'm honest. I can buy all the other stuff elsewhere. But, there's only one place I can go get stuff for the house (honey-do list) AND sneak in some ammo for me! Walmart.

If I can no longer buy ammo at Walmart, the incentive for me to go there for the honey-do list is gone. I'll be honest... Target is closer to my house. They don't have ammo. I drive FARTHER to Walmart, so I can replenish my ammo supply. If that's gone, I'll be going to Target, instead for household sundries.

I understand the urge to be "PC" and virtue-signal in these turbulent political times. But, I am asking you to reconsider this decision which only punishes your loyal law-abiding gun-owning customers.

Thank you.
Will they change because of MY email? No. But, if they get 100,000+ emails just like it, they may reconsider. The bottom line is the bottom line. Gillette lost nearly $1B because of the fallout resulting from the "toxic masculinity" ad. They pulled the ad.

I would encourage everyone to send Walmart an email.

For regular household items, Target, that's where. Target is a more enjoyable shopping experience anyway (don't have to deal with Wal-martians) and although Target doesn't sell ammo, that's available elsewhere at just as good, if not better prices.

I stopped by a local WM this PM and picked up six 200 round boxes of WWB 115gr 9mm.

It was all the 200 round boxes they had, but they still had plenty of 50 and 100 round boxes, in several calibers, of pistol and rifle ammo.
