They HAVE to drive slow in New England... because every road is so full of potholes, it looks like they got hit with a cluster bomb!

My brother (from MA), always marvels at how nice and smooth our roads are when he visits here.

My car insurance went UP when I moved here from southern California. UP! I asked why. The insurance company told me that SE Florida has the worst drivers (highest crash rate) of anywhere in the country. We're #1!!

Been there, driven there, countless times since 1987; NJ, NY, NYC, MA, RI. So I know how they drive up there, too. Also lots of experience in DC, MD, and Northern VA. South Florida may have a higher concentration of numbskull drivers, but definitely not a corner on that market. These days I prefer to stay in America unless I have to visit those foreign states for work.

That said... I can tell (as a passenger) when I'm riding with a driver from NY. Holy crap... they treat the gas and brake like on-off switches! They do NOT know how to modulate or be smooth. You can get car sick riding with NY drivers!

Agreed. My blood pressure rises instantly with drivers like that. Can’t stand it.
