Hello everyone,
So I read the NRA site regarding the necessity to become a certified handgun instructor and saw that you can also apply if you have your Armed Security License per state of Florida which I do and a minimum of 3 years in armed security or other security so my question is will my minimum of 3 years in Security Forces in USAF and 3 years as just regular private security be enough to register for the Class to get certified by the NRA then apply for my K license? Thank You for your help
If you have been employed as a licensed armed private security officer for over 3 years you should be all set. I do not know if they will verify employment or not but I would be prepared for that as simply having the licenses is not sufficient as I understand it.
Ah ok thanks then I also emailed the necessary personnel regarding this just to really clarify it up and if not then since I already have my G license I’ll apply to sites needing G license applicants
Welcome to FCC from Palm Beach County, edward0125! :wave
Since this was your first post to FCC, now would be a really good time to also go back and post you're own Introduction thread to FCC so the members get to know you. You can do that by going to the Introduce Yourself section of The Front Office and start your very own introduction thread. Then you'll find that lots of other FCC members will know to chime in to properly welcome you to the forum, and will be more responsive in answering questions!
Hello everyone got in touch with the NRA and yes if you served in military as a security police or forces in the Air Force you do qualify for the NRA instructor course as long as it states in the 214 that you served at least 3 years
If you do go to the NRA LE Firearms Instructor course, make certain your skills are polished. In my class, only half of us graduated. The qualification course is not a gimmee...
I had the test criteria lying around at one point. If I come across it I'll post it. Always good to go to the range and do the test on your own before you go so you know you're ready.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
