I did the express application last Wednesday 10/21. Very nice ladies at the Jax office. I was in and out in 25 minutes and told to look for my license in 2 weeks. 8 days to go.

    Tampa office

I just got back from the Tampa office a few hours ago. Easy process, nice people. I was a little early for the appointment but they took me straight away. They took my DL, proof of CCW class and of course my check for $117
I was then escorted into a room with about 10 computers and filed my application online. Went back into the front room and waited for a couple of minutes until there was room at the fingerprint screen. They took my prints (4 of my prints were rejected and had to be rolled again. They tried several times and then just pushed it on through...I hope this doesn't come back as bad prints or something....) After printing, I was led over to a camera, signed the paperwork, recd my DL back, and got my pic taken. Total time taken, 25 minutes. I was told I should get my permit in 5-6 weeks. So now, I guess I'm on countdown.

For non res permits do they ask for a drivers license from your state of residence? We live in our travel trailer and drive around when resident stateside. Want to get the FLA non res permit since we do not have a permit good in FLA (although we have several).
    Tnx

Curious, does anyone have any experience with the Orlando office? I've got my appt for Dec 8th (called like 2 weeks ago) and I'm hoping to have it before I go for a trip Jan 8th, 2010.

made an appointment a couple weeks ago at the Punta gorda office..for this Wednesday

SO, I need my drivers license, $117 EXACTLY? in a moneyorder? and a COPY of my pistol class paperwork...
Am I able to use my debit card?

    That's about it right?

The guy on the phone estimated I'd have my CWL license in under two weeks at best, but under a month for the worst

$117 with a personal check is OK.

BTW I received my CCW in the mail on the 7th day after I completed my application

Awesome. So I'll just bring my checkbook. And my debit card. Whatever they want me to pay with will work. Haha.
