In this video we see a man being strangled by another man in an elevator. It's a set up stunt, but I thought about 'what if' someone had been carrying a weapon, or what if that person was a trained martial artist / self defense expert? Wow, what a mess this would be in Fl!

Well in Florida there would have been about a 1-17 chance that the "onlooker" would have had a weapon (approximate, IIRC the CCW vs population ratio), I'd expect to see a pistol muzzle here if I were the acting assailant.
Interesting though how few people got involved at all. I wonder how many "tests" they actually did, and what percentage were represented in the video (to drive the point they were trying to make.)
This will only fly in NYC. Down here he wouldn't have good through that video without being shot, beaten, or stabbed.

I'm thinking my first reaction, even before drawing my gun, would be to use my size 12 boot to kick a field goal with the attacker's face.

my first thought also...but...
the question being...which man may have been the original aggressor...you dont know how or where this started and who started it...
but i still see striking as the best way to end it...without losing sight of the fact that the apparent victim may be the original aggressor...for all you know the guy choking the other may be an undercover cop who got into a bad situation and managed to turn it around...and is too breathless to identify...
just throwing it out there...i know there are a lot of people here who can identify bad people just by looking at them...but this would be a bad time to be wrong...
