That very premise is why I enjoy being an instructor. I absolutely love it when a student asks a question that, to him/her is a new unanswered question, but to me is one that I've heard asked a thousand times. I don't look at them or treat them in such a manner as to suggest "what kind of stupid question is that?" or "(sigh) My God, here we go again with that one...". I give them the best answer that I can muster and explain the minutia to whatever extent they desire. When the light goes on in their head and I see that wonderful "AHAH!!!" look in their eyes, I know that I've done my job. Stuff like that is what I live for. Thanks for reminding us, SG60.

    Cheers y'all,

Powerful and well spoken, sir. I have been the person that says "AHAH" and knows what it means to be on the learning side. No matter what you are responding to. ebl

The thoughts on "Bully" is one of a perceptional nature. One mans bully very well could be another mans significant other

Seriously though, if you can't pitch your ***** here, where can you pitch it.

Newest students ask questions the seniors already have the answers for. That is the point isn't it? A forum such as this is for learning about our shared interest and also has areas where we can talk about non related subjects.

It is the students entering the starting points that serve to make all this worthwhile. We need to listen to them or we shall surely succumb to a group of old folks saying something about something that no one else will ever hear.

So then that said, let's welcome new folks like Mikel to boldly point out to our surprise we may have a problem. After all God did give us two ears so we could listen twice as much as we speak didn't he? That's what Grandpa told me anywho!

And do not forget what Aldous Huxley told us, "Experience is not what happens to a man. It is what a man does with what happens to him."

And the words of John W. Gardner who said, "We are continually faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as insoluble problems."

    Da best!

And to Brownie... "F You" ! Love ya Bud!

I've been from one end of the spectrum to the other... my first entry to this forum was quite a thing... made some friends right off the bat, and got heated with the best of them all at the same time... Had a swan song, then a wake up (Thanks BnB! for the incredible wisdom!) Now I just try and offer what I can, get into it at times when I feel froggish, and understand its all just an internet forum, it doesn't physically hurt me, and mentally it can be turned off when needed. I have had the INCREDIBLE pleasure to take advantage of a training offer (Thanks Brownie!) and have helped a guy re-arm himself (with the help of other fine forum members!) where he once felt vulnerable... I LOVE this place, and all that goes with it, the good, the bad, and the ugly!

This ^ is what this forum is all about. If that doesn't give inspiration to old timers and new folks alike, I just don't know what does.

    Thanks, Scott.

So is now the time I mention that guys seem to want the younger model of everything?

If anyone is bored here then go look in the mirror. That seems to be part of the problem with any issue.

As with anything we need to ask ourselves, "Are you part of the problem or part of the solution?"

I do not know what you mean by " pitch your ***** here" and I saw the grin. I think this forum is the place to give the knowledge that you have, give to others that do not have it. Provide the misguided a path and if they do not follow it, you tried. Everyone here has their own beliefs, prioritites and self instilled principles. You may not change them, but you can present an alternative for them to consider. I have many times over, thanks to the people on this forum. I may be a stone, but that does not mean I can not be molded into a statuette. ebl

Pros of this forum - 1) Guns and concealment info in heaping spades. Duh. Of course you could just read some dry books or a few web sites and get the same info for the most part so if that was all the site had to offer there would be little reason to stick around. 2) The people. Smart people. Up to date with news items most would regularly miss. A place to jump into discussions and get informed or inform, to step forward and put up an opposing view you may believe to be the best for yourself and others. A place where you may actually have your mind changed if you listen too. I have learned a ton and not just about cc.

Cons. - 1) Petty little people, often with high post county that exist to nit pick the greater ideas that they con not overcome. 2) The absolute hostile disdain for what I would think to be obvious. Things like daring to point out the hypocrisy of the GOP. Or to say anything negative about law enforcement. Of course we all love cops or at least our ideas of what we believe they are supposed to be. In the cases where they fall short some time those of you who feel threatened by a shrinking amount of worship would be more effective in acknowledging someones feelings and them reminding those folks that as an insider you can attest to the fact that their ideal which has been shattered still exists inside that station house and that the vast majority of cops strive to live up to that every day. Folks betrayed by the bad apples you know exist are just looking for some validation and to have their hope restored. The way it is handled here seems to do more harm than good IMHO. 3) The disdain for those who support open carry. It is illogical to think that those who advocate for it would not find a forum such as this the most fertile recruiting ground. I find it illogical that a gun owner would oppose it. I find it offensive when someone claims rights on one hand and then belittles others who want their rights restored too just because they see their right differently.

And referenced as neither pro nor con is Brownie. Brownie shines here because of his experiences and his willingness to share relevant to the primary topic. But gawd you are a jackass sometimes! The saving grace is your so freaking entertaining and knowledgeable that I have to accept you as you are and have then grown to love you for it. When you strip out the negative tone one can project into another fellas written word and try to read the best into it you can be taken a whole different way. Maybe that is the way the rest of us could start to look at each other too. Worth it. Everyone has something to teach if you give them the chance and do not run them down, run them off.

I have stood my ground and been right, I have blurted out like a trigger happy fool and been wrong, but no matter what I am always drawn back because of the people. Smart people. Thank yall for participating.

Don't know if you meant what I think you meant...but something I always worry about... if someone is so sensitive that feels offended at the slightest contradiction, and it's not able to hold his/her ground in a simple WORDS argument without crying fault ... I just wonder how that person can survive a single day out the basement...
I'm typing mostly from a cell phone, errors are common, but keep in mind 90% of my grammar errors and 100% of my stupid ideas are my sole responsibility. I ALWAYS use sarcasm...
