    Ruger LCP Range Experience

Bought a Ruger LCP about a month ago and went out to fire it for the first time. Excellent pistol with very little recoil for me (others not so from posts I've read), and I enjoyed the hours time. Only had 2 magazines so had to reload. Fixed that problem by purchasing 3 more so next time out, 5 loaded magazines should do me good.

Next purchase may be a 9MM, just need to figure out which one. I have an appointment on 1 April to apply for the permit, so that is just around the corner.

I am partial to Rugers. Their SR-9c is a good, easily concealable, gun. It comes with two mags, a 10 and a 17 capacity. The 17 gives the grip a full sized feel, but sticks out a little more. The 10 is very easy to cover.

Just sold my LCP since I couldn't shoot it a lick. Not a bad firearm, I just wasn't accurate enough and I wasn't comfortable carrying a .380. Bought a Sig P938. Nice little 9mm. Check it out.

The LCP is my everywhere gun. It gets carried more than the Glock. I've been practicing with it more and more. I recommend the Winchester White Box 95gr flat-nose ammo, for both target and carry. Available at Walmart when Walmart has ammo available.

Very concealeable. accurate. Those are the pros. Enjoy!

Bought two of them a couple weeks ago. One for me and one for the wife. Finally got to shoot ours on Saturday. I love it. It is a little snappy, but once I learned the trigger pull, which is obviously very long and not the smoothest, I did fairly well with it. Granted it isn't a target gun, but it would definitely do in a close quarters defensive scenario.

Planning on adding the crimson trace laser to the wife's, but wanted her to learn to shoot it well with what little sight there is to start with.

I know not everyone is all about the .380 and I'm sure I will carry one of my 9mm a lot too, but it will be great for those times when you need a really small and easily concealable weapon.

Just be aware that the laser will slow reaction time and that lapse could be the difference between winning or losing the fight. My suggestion would be to abandon training with the sights on that thing altogether, as they are virtually useless. You may consider using the money you're going to spend on the laser for some threat-focused-shooting training. Again, just a thought.

Skip the laser and get her and yourself into to some training classes. Seriously. She should be able to shoot without sights, in a self defense situation between adrenaline and tunnel vision no one looks at the sights and has a 1 sec draw speed to COM, etc. Again training and practice will help with sightless shooting, not a laser.

I've heard the same thing about the 380 being inferior but I love my lcp. I carry it more than my glock 26 because it is so easily concealable. Many times I can wear it with just a task top and no issues with printing.
