you need to spend time on a harley forum to understand...many feel their bike will be irreparably damaged if it is left in the rain...one even opened a thread discussing possible legal action against a dealer because the bike was uncrated and exposed to rain before he took delivery...its a real tough bunch
youre preaching to the choir here, fella...i owned a heavily chromed and modified harley that spent a lot of time in the rain and was only washed twice a year (january and june)...just like my guns...![]()

. Even then, I wouldn't exactly say what I did was "washing". More like a spray bottle of 409 and a rag used randomly to nab the really grimy parts.
If a bike can melt in the rain, I'd have found myself skittering on by backside years ago when the bike I was on melted out from under me. I once rode from Arkansas to Colorado. Rained from about 15 miles out of my driveway to my cousin's ranch southwest of Denver. Colorado gets something like 5 rainy days a year....of course, I chose to travel during those 5 day it seems.
