I appreciate your suggestions very much, but let me (re-)assure you: while the G19 will be the first handgun I've owned, I have owned & used a Browning .30-06 rifle for hunting for quite a while, plus I've been to quite a few ranges & rented several different handguns just to have fun target shooting over the years. I also definitely plan on taking one of SwampRat's classes after I pick up my G19 (which will be this Friday - yay!), but I've been looking over some of the other instructors in the more local area also to see what they offer, what their prices are, etc. I'm reasonably comfortable with my shooting ability using a handgun, but I'm also a firm believer that no amount of training is ever too much, so I plan on taking various classes and getting plenty of range time under my belt with the G19. And I most definitely want to take a class on the legal issues of CC before I even think about applying for my CCW. Reading about it is just not the same as having an instructor drill it into your head!

Hey... Brevard County Ladies! Looking for other women who live in the area that might want to meet up at the range sometime and do some practice. Just not as fun with the hubby all the time! . Gotta love em but sometimes you just have to leave the testosterone at home.

I am in the Rockledge area and pretty much go to all the ranges but Titusville Police Hall of fame is the one I frequent the most.
