Without commenting on the outrageousness (or lack thereof, depending on your opinion) of the behavior of the bounty hunters in this particular incident, the detective interviewed for the story stated that bounty hunters can enter 3rd party locations, including private residences. Assuming that you're not harboring a fugitive, would you use deadly force to repel an intrusion into your home by bounty hunters? And is it even lawful to do so? :dunno

Can't even describe it. They didn't take the tithe check that was made out and sitting right beside my purse and phone they stole. I woke up because the battery backup was beeping from the computer being unplugged, back door wide open where they ran out They are lucky I didn't shoot them.

I work as store manager for national retail chain. (I won't say where, don't ask) It's a terminable offense to carry at work, so I don't.

Last night, while working, I was called over to deal with some guy who was acting odd, he seemed high, twitchy, maybe meth. He was making my staff uncomfortable.
I responded, and became his personal escort. He decided to buy something large (and expensive) Which he pushed his mom into paying for. (30 is the new 16) I, and my backup, the largest guy working that night, walked his item out to his car while thinking to ourselves, glad he's out of our store and done with.

He opens his hatchback, and without warning, grabs a butter knife from his trunk, a freaking butter knife, and lunges at me. He thought it would be funny to scare us, had no intention of harm, and didn't follow through with a swing.

The good: We both reacted calmly, we readied ourselves for his attack.
The bad: I had no way of truly defending myself, And now I'm left with two thoughts.
Had he been intent on hurting us, we were still unarmed and up against a possible meth addict.
Had it been a situation off-duty where I was armed, and he did follow through, I still don't know I would have had the time to draw. It all happens so fast.

It's time for lots more practice drawing from concealed.
Just wish I could find 9mm, or small pistol primers/9mm bullets so I could get some real range time in.
Not sure what I can do to shake the feeling of vulnerability at work though.
