I have a trip thru the Pacific Northwest coming up in about 7 weeks. Since WA dropped FL and WI doesn't recognize FL I was looking for another State's "non-resident license" to cover some of the States my FL CWFL doesn't...

It appears Utah is my best bet. Problem is it appears I have to apply in person, even if I get my Utah class taught by someone local.

Anyone been down this road? If I reverse my route & hit Utah first, apply in person etc, will I get the license right away, or is it like FL where my trip will be all over before ever I see the license?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Would a 25 year old DUI in another state require you to submit proof of restitution? My friend has had 2 or 3 DUI's in another state that are 25 to 30 years old and nothing was required from him last year, as his permit was issued. I feel if you failed to serve your time or pay a fine, you would have a warrant out for your arrest and that I would think would show up as well.

I am happy to report that my wife has finally signed up to take her required class to apply for her license. However, we recently moved from central FL to south FL. Until we find/purchase our new home, we are staying with my family. So, our driver's licenses still have our old address from our sold home. I know I am SUPPOSED to update my driver license address when I move, but I was hoping to hold off until we find our new/permanent address. Would this be an issue? I assume the address that goes on the application will have to match her drivers license, correct? I got my license SOO long ago that I don't remember, but I believe I am correct in assuming that we will need to update our drivers license with the address where we are staying before she goes for her class. Any confirmation on this?

Thanks

Edit: added "drivers license" to clarify post

Proof of Competency

So, I have a residential concealed handgun permit from both Virginia an Oregon. I am looking at getting a non-res from FL to give me the extra states that my current two do not. I keep reading in various places about FL requiring a firearm to actually be handled and fired, although I cannot actually find that in the law.

FL Statute 790.06 (2)(h) states: Demonstrates competence with a firearm by any one of the following:
790.06 (2)(h)(7): Completion of any firearms training or safety course or class conducted by a state-certified or National Rifle Association certified firearms instructor

That is exactly what I have. I took a firearms safety course taught by an NRA-certified instructor. While a firearm was presented during the course, range time was not part of the course. Reading the rest of the law (790.06), I could not find anywhere that range time, firearm handling, or even a non-online course was required. Does anyone know if this is actually in the statutes anywhere (i.e. a specific statute number)?

My course worked for VA, which specifically allowed it and for OR, which did not specifically allow it or disallow it. I have taken may other firearms courses throughout the year, just not one that give certificates and I am trying to avoid the extra class course if I don't have to.

If I submit it and it is declined, does anyone know if I lose my application fee, or could I resubmit proper documentation?
